Dear Ballard Gardeners,
Well the gardens have been selected and the PR for SB's Third Edioble Garden Tour is going well. It looks like we are down to looking for folks to help with shifts in the booth on the 25th.
the following is from our notes:[]
[The ideal plan would be to find out how many volunteers we can expect, and
engage them in the next session of planning as well, but not with ALL the
details, just an orientation so they can pick shifts, see what's
involved on the day of, learn about what we are doing and WHY etc.
If
we follow thru on more handouts, displays, etc. we can use more people.
They will feel more plugged in if they learn more about the 100 mile
map, why we do this tour, how the City itself is promoting eat local,
etc. 2. Schedule for tent set-up day of: OK as below, or do we need to talk about it?]
set up shift/ 8 AM to 9:45 AM (we know there will be early bird folk who want their map at the stroke of 10, so let's be ready) We could use extra hands at 8:30 at the start site for arranging tents, signs, materials for display, etc.Andrea
will help on this shift and try to remove myself by 11 AM and come
back for the take down shift but would like to take the tour in the
middle. Map sales shifts
9:50 - 11:30 AM SALES people needed, minimum 2, maximum 4 (at least 1 SB old hand for obscure questions and cheerleading at each shift)
11 AM -1 PM more SALES people, to relieve shift so first shift can get lunch, take tour, take a nap, or whatever
12:45 PM - 2 PM second relief shift, as above
1:45 PM to 3 PM Last map sale shift, fewer people needed for SALES
Take down shift 3 PM till done. Haul out to storage, etc. able bodied only. One TRUCK would be nice.
Followed by beverages on Faste's back deck. All involved are invited.
Please let me know if you are interested and in what capacity you may be willing to help..
thankx,
Paula Jenson
