... we provide
free pruning! This year PlantAmnesty Arborists will prune the historic
Blue Atlas
Cedar at the site of the African American Museum, which is a recently
restored historic
structure (formerly Colman School) that residents of Rainer Valley waged a
successful
effort to save during the I-90 rebuild. We will also prune trees at the
adjacent
Jimi Hendrix Park and along Massachsuetts Street. Will there be music?
We'll see.
The official celebration of Arbor Day is scheduled for high noon at the
site of
the cedar. The celebration will include short speeches, cookies, and
thanks to the
arborists for their good deeds. Come and join us -- all are welcome.
