Hello to all Gardeners and Gardener Wanna-Be's!

We actually had a "garden meal" on Sunday night, which was salad greens, green beans, and boiled potatoes, so that felt good!  I think I'm behind in putting in seed for fall stuff, but my first-year garden has done well, I think.  And... the 6 tomato starts we bought from Jenny now stand about 4-5 feet tall and have lots of small green tomato's, keeping my fingers crossed for ripe ones!  How is your garden?

Last month I learned a lot about bees from Evan Sugden, his presentation was really great.  Evan will be coming to the festival in September for those who missed him this time.  Now, the get together for the Urban Crop Circle is always the first Monday of the month ... but for September that falls on Labor Day!  Which will probably not work for most folks.  I suggest moving the circle to the next Monday, September 8th.  But before that can happen:

I am getting ready to go on a vacation to Costa Rica and will be wrapped up in getting ready after September 1st and will still be gone the first Monday in October.  So, we need 2 volunteers, one for September and one for October to run the group (or one volunteer ready to take on 2 circles).

The commitment would be to:

1. Decide the theme (and there are lots of options)
2. Reserve the space at the library (1 phone call)
3. Arrange for tea or snacks
4. Send notice to UCC and post on wiki on the Sustainable Ballard website

EASY!
