Get out of the garden. Come to the first BUG picnic.
Let's get honest... sometimes gardening is about eating good food (i.e. the kind you make) and meeting good people (i.e. you).
Jim Bristow has invited us to his "activity house". He's got a few decks and a fire circle should we push the 9:10 p.m sunset. And there's so much to look at... veggie gardens, rain garden, serious rain catchment, green (not merely greenwashed) remodeling. And let's not overlook the never-ending edutainment channel -- fun banter chock-full-o useful factoids. Oh yeah, and his wonderful wife and daughter (if they're not in Chile).
I propose that we create a BUG culture of treading lightly on the planet (and our host) by going hyper-BYO:
BYO mug
BYO picnic place setting (e.g. portable plate and fork - I carry a bamboo mini-spork)
BYO folding chair
(There will be backups if you forget.)
And of course, bring food and drink to share.
P.S. I know that there are entertainers in our midst. Bring the tools of your trade, be it a guitar, tap shoes, a magic hat, or pyrotechnic, solar-powered, animal-friendly, juggling chainsaws.
