Hi all,
Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed our seed ordering session on Monday night. I wanted to again thank Paula for her hospitality.

In a past meeting, I spoke about a website that I had found that I have enjoyed and has given me some great ideas. It also has some worksheet tools that the lady posted to share.

Website =  http://www.yougrowgirl.com/

Evidently she recently put out a book. I haven’t had time to check it out. When I do, I’ll post some sort of review. I enjoy her blog, so I expect I’ll like the book.

My latest find from her site is making seed starting pots out of empty toilet paper or paper towel rolls.

The Lazy Gardener's Automatic Seed Starting Chart = http://www.yougrowgirl.com/grow/ygg_seedstartingchart.pdf

Basically you put in what you think the Frost Free Date is and it will calculate all of your dates for you. Super neat and easy! I’ve always done this on graph paper by hand and this is so much easier. The link is a pdf file and she also has a download-able excel file which is even better because you can customize it for your garden. I am going to add a column to mind which gives the potential harvest date. I’ve lost track of the link for the excel file, so if you can’t find it let me know and I’ll send you a copy of mine.

Seattle frost data =

www.almanac.com/content/frost-chart-united-states

This site lists Seattle’s “Last Frost Spring” Date as March 24. Don’t know if that is so for this year. Our growing season is listed at 232 days in length, with a “First Frost Fall” date of November 11.

Anyway, now that I know what I’m ordering, I am in full-tilt planning mode and dug this info out and thought I’d pass it along.

I also have a Garden Harvest spreadsheet that I really can’t remember where I got it.
It is an Excel worksheet. If there is an interest for it, I’ll send it. It would be the actual document as I do not have the link.

Hope you find it helpful and are having a great week.
Diane
