Background on groupon...


Groupon is a "Group Coupon".

You make a commitment, but the deal isn't final unless enough folks  
sign up.  My understanding is that it was for projects - "I'll commit  
$200 to cleaning up the park, but only if we can get enough other  
folks to fund the $20,000 effort".

It's branched into local coupons.  Wendy and I got a world-class  
dinner at a local/organic restaurant for a not-so-world-class price.   
It was a great deal.
