Helloo everyone, is it food yet? I have been harvesting salad green galore, and some broccoli and peas and a few small potatoes. The cilantro is doing good, my fav herb. I hope, cross my fingers, to get beans and tomatoes. How is your garden?
Our Gardens, Our Food and Bees will be the subject of the next get-together of the Urban Crop Circler's. Evan Sugden, biologist and expert on the insects will be there to talk about both honey and mason bees. We will find out why bees are important to us and what we can do to support them, including feeding and housing our little friends. Evan also makes mason bee house kits that will be available after the talk (we cannot buy or sell anything or have money change hands at the library).
To thank Evan for coming out and talking free of charge, I'll be bringing something from my garden (probably some greens). Do you have anything to bring? Even a little something, anything really, would be great.
And if anyone is able to give me a hand with refreshments and tea, I would appreciate that!
Our Gardens, Our Food and Bees
Evan Sugden, Biologist and Bee Expert
Monday, August 4 5:45 to 7:45 (part of this will be Evan and part just talking)
Ballard Library
See you there, Rhonda
