A reminder that this is the week to send out emails in support of
Conlin's food security resolution if you haven't already. Can you let
your circles know that now is the time? I've got all the
Councilmembers emails and Tim Ceis (asst. mayor) copied below for your
convenience. You'll need to send the Mayor email separately at
www.seattle.gov/mayor/citizen_response.htm.
A couple of Seattle Tilth members were among 79 people who testified
at the April 16 hearing. However, for most of the April 16 hearing,
only 2 councilmembers were there and listening. So your emails are
really important this week.
get out the brocolli vote! find your inner tomato!

Dear Councilmembers,
I'm writing in support of the Local Food Action Initiative Resolution
#31019. I particularly support the fact that the initiative calls on
the City to begin a dialog on a number of inter-related issues
including climate, poverty, hunger, obesity, emergency preparations,
and waste. This initiative recognizes the need for a good look at the
whole system of a basic human need. I wholeheartedly support
discussions in all City departments about food. We've got boards,
councils and even departments of other human needs including energy,
waste, water, and housing. Why not food?
Thank you for your consideration and support of local, healthy food.
