<div><font face="Comic Sans MS">and fun between Ballard residents who produce food in their own backyards and/or are into making cheese, </font></div>
<div><font face="Comic Sans MS">beer, bread, canning etc.</font><br><font face="Comic Sans MS"><br></font><br><font face="Comic Sans MS">I’m concerned that the urban gardening movement in Seattle is very active, but many of us still eat </font></div>
<div><font face="Comic Sans MS">a majority of food that is shipped large distances. For some, the idea of growing or preserving their </font></div>
<div><font face="Comic Sans MS">own food can be intimidating. If we don’t do anything many people will continue to miss the opportunity </font></div>
<div><font face="Comic Sans MS">to produce their own food and enjoy all the benefits involved.</font><br><font face="Comic Sans MS"><br></font><br><font face="Comic Sans MS">My project will be based around a free website where backyard food producers in the Ballard </font></div>
<div><font face="Comic Sans MS">area can connect and support each other through trading food, seeds and skills, sharing tools and ;</font></div>
<div><font face="Comic Sans MS">resources, babysitting each others backyards during vacations and anything else they can think up. </font></div>
<div><font face="Comic Sans MS">I predict the energy created will be infectious, and cause many new communities to join the urban </font></div>
<div><font face="Comic Sans MS">gardening movement!</font><br><font face="Comic Sans MS"><br></font><br><font face="Comic Sans MS">I am working on a grant to support the project through the city of Seattle dept. of neighborhoods. </font></div>
